Dry Ice Blasting is used extensively for refinery cleaning applications with great success. Dry Ice Blasting is far superior to traditional cleaning methods as it is a dry process that creates no secondary wastes. It reduces or eliminates the need for toxic solvents, and the cleanup and disposal of blasting media, such as; sand, grit, water etc., that are hard to clean up and expensive to dispose of. Because dry ice (CO2) sublimates on contact with the object being cleaned there is less cleanup required; this means less downtime. Conveyor components, mixers, hoppers, oven bands, extruders, part carrying fixtures, etc. can be cleaned on-line and without chemicals, while oil, grease, petroleum, asphalt, tar, etc. contract and loosen their bond quickly.
