Dry Ice CO2 Blasting is far superior to traditional cleaning methods such as sandblasting, pressure washing and chemical cleaning. The process is similar to sandblasting without the abrasive effect on the surface to be cleaned. It reduces or eliminates the need for toxic solvents and the cleanup and disposal of blasting media such as sand, grit, water etc., that are hard to clean up and expensive to dispose of. Because dry ice (CO2) sublimates on contact with the object to be cleaned there is no secondary waste generated. This environmentally friendly industrial cleaning process will not damage electrical wiring, controls, switches, relays, bearings or blasting surfaces.
Dry Ice Blasting is a process in which dry ice particles are propelled at high velocities impacting the surface to be cleaned. When the particles impact the surface to be cleaned they compress expanding the gas particles creating a small series of micro-explosions at the point of impact, removing the contaminants. Instantly, the CO2 particles sublimate back into carbon dioxide gas and are released harmlessly into the atmosphere, leaving no secondary waste. These micro-explosions along with the air stream supply and the decreased contaminant temperature, brittle and weaken the bond of the contaminant forcing the contaminant to literally pop off.
The range of cleaning applications for dry ice is exceptional while, minimizing downtime, maximizing production efficiency and completely eliminating secondary waste. In most cases this cleaning process eliminates the need for equipment shutdown, masking, cool down, disassembly and transportation of equipment. Any time waste issues or health risks are a concern; the viability of CO2 cleaning should be examined as there is no secondary waste produced with the CO2 Dry Ice Blast cleaning process.
